Wacky Wednesday - Favre in 08 playing in GB?

Oh boy…Here we go again. ESPN is reporting Brett may be thinking about coming back to play in 08. Nothing has been confirmed nor probably will be for days, if at all. It’s hard not to mention these ‘events’ which are related to football and are fav team - but really, until something is official why create a stir? This time of year to me, of course a newly retired star of Favre’ caliber would get the itch..thats a no brainer..But hey, he has had an awesome career as is held in high regard. Jordon, Gretzky - someday Tiger they all have there day. Bring on the Rodgers era and lets always fondly remember Brett and his legacy!

Crazy this on again off again retirement saga, this has to be a distraction to the Packers.

its been such since the ‘official’ retirement, at least for Fan Nation around there parts..however..ponder this..the Packers have made no offseason move whatsoever (intentional based on insider Favre-Packers info?!?) to acquire a veteran backup as of yet..furthermore, you would presume they need even the worst veteran out there available as some sort of insurance heading into the season right? Favre, would fill the criteria and at the same time fill his need to be ‘in football’….at the same time - i cant understand why Rodgers hasnt officially told a news mag or paper he would wish Brett would decide one way or the other…he has been loyal in his grooming period and this is thought to be his time/turn..I would really wonder when Rodgers is going to flip and say something negative about Farve…training camp is within 4 weeks now….Opening game vs. Vikings will be a MustSee either way…he’s back..but in what way?

When I first heard that Favre was thinking of retiring I said to myself “Ya right”. I think anyone who’s followed Favre over the years knew this might happen.
I’m a big fan of Favre but he’s going to have to make up his mind before it becomes a distraction, if it hasn’t already.

I’m sure most cheese heads want Brett back, but he’s really making himself look stupid right now. Or he will if he comes back. Just stay retired, let Aaron Rodgers get his chance.

If I were in charge of the Packers, I would tell Brett not to bother, because his position has been filled.
He was a great QB, but after leaving the Pack on the burner for the past three years waiting for an answer every year, and for months every time, he has now made his choice, and Green Bay has moved on without him.
How would this make Rodgers feel? Would they just hand the spot back to Brett? or would it be an open competition? and if so, would Brett be happy as a backup?
I have to be honest with you, If I were given the choice, I would take Rodgers as my starter over Brett right now. He is far younger, and far more suited to what this team has become. They dont need Brett to come in and try to force throws, they need a guy to make limmited mistakes, and control the clock. Rodgers is the guy to do that.
It really angers me that Brett has been quoted saying that he never wants to be the guy who retires and then comes back. Now he may become that guy.
I would imagine that it would be hard for pro athletes to make these decisions, but you have to do it, and you have to try everything in your power not to hurt your team and your fans.
What Brett is doing is hurting the team, and the fans, and I don’t like it.
      Sorry Brett!
