RULES FOR NOMINATIONS

1. A player must be retired for three years.
2. Must receive 75% of the vote to be inducted.
3. If the person is not Canadian they must have done something significant in baseball in Canada.
4. The person will stay on the ballot for nine years as long as they receive a minimum of one vote every two years.
5. If you would like a nomination form please email Scott. All information must be in by December 31st of the year to be eligible for the following year.

Hopefully that helps. We have a committee from across Canada that takes all nominations and votes on who should be inducted.

Thank you to Scott at the Baseball Hall of fame

Justin I figured you wouldn't misinterpret what I meant. I only cited Jackie because he was such an historical figure who was not Canadian. However Tony Fernandez is no Jackie Robinson.

and yes jackie was inducted in 1991. I have emailed those in charge looking for the criterion as most of the inductees are in fact cdn but i wonder what stands in the way of simply inducting the entire 92-93 jays team?

he might be, i can look into that, please everyone don't make the mistake of turning this into a racial issue, not my intent at all! :) And i don't believe Joe you are suggesting it was my intent.

My question is, in my books, i would like to walk into the cdn hall of fame and see the best canadians to have played the game, not the best players to play for a cdn team, to me that doesn't make sense.

Justin, maybe you can answer this question for me, but is Jackie Robinson in the Candian Hall of Fame? I only ask because he did get his start up in Montreal before being called to the majors.
