is this is indeed true it makes his win simply incredible. I thought it was a touch over cooked but any golfer who has played with something as simple as a twisted ankle or sore back knows golf is not a game that is easy to play when you think you are going to hurt yourself.

It is true. Here is his statement from his site:
“I know much was made of my knee throughout the last week, and it was important to me that I disclose my decision publicly at an appropriate time. I wanted to be very respectful of the USGA and their incredibly hard work, and make sure the focus was on the U.S. Open. Now it is clear that the right thing to do is to listen to my doctors, follow through with this surgery, and focus my attention on rehabilitating my knee.”
It does make his win unreal and as a sports enthusiast, I certainly hope he makes a complete recovery with no future effects. Watching Tiger Woods play golf is a priviledge. I count myself lucky thus far that I’ve been able to watch this phenom play and experiance teh magic he does.

yep he is something else.
1997 Masters or 2008 US Open is now a healthy debate.

Now that hockey is over what is Tiger going to watch during his rehab?

and she is something to watch. I would be fine if NBC showed every Tiger shot at a major and followed his wife around with the camera in between shots
