Biggest Shock In TUF History

First hinted at during the UFC 85 telecast, fans were promised the biggest shock in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) history coming in the next two weeks leading up to the finale on Saturday, June 21st on Spike. If you tuned in last night hoping to discover just what this shock might be, you were probably just as disappointed as I was. Not only has the UFC’s ‘big’ announcement been re-scheduled until next Tuesday, we also have to wait until next Wednesday to find out the full details of the TUF ordeal.

However, that doesn’t mean that we all don’t have a general idea of what to expect from both. It appears that the UFC’s ‘big’ announcement will consist of mixed martial arts being sanctioned in New York State. Though this is a major step forward, it is hardly something that has been unexpected by fans who have been following the growth of this sport. Though it is not certain that the bill will pass as it did experience difficulty yesterday, another vote will be taken next week. Will this be the announcement we expect from Dana White next Tuesday? What happens if this is the news that Dana had planned to reveal and the bill does not pass? I suppose only time will tell.

As the end of TUF arrived last night and we got a glimpse of what to expect next week on the show, Dana could be seen watching video of what appeared to be a TUF contestant kicking out the window of a limousine while driving down the strip in Las Vegas. Dana White can then be heard remarking that “(this contestant) is out of the finale and out of the UFC.” Is this really a huge shock? Have we not seen fighters banished from the house before in the history of TUF and not welcomed back to the UFC? Well yes, we have.

However, what makes this different is the fact that The Ultimate Fighter is taped long before it is actually aired. Though fans expect, and now know, that we will see other fighters from the show on the finale, those match-ups had not been decided upon during the taping of the show. Why is this important? Quite simply, if a fighter is ‘out of the tough finale’, by my estimations it must be a fighter who qualified to fight in the finals of this tournament. This would have to be either Jesse Taylor, who was victorious last night over Tim Credeur, or the winner of Amir Sadollah and CB Dollaway, who will fight next week.

So let’s take votes. Which of the three do you think gets kicked out of the UFC next week? Perhaps you disagree with me and believe that it may be another fighter who is not in the finals of the tournament and Dana just knew that he would be featured in the finale and have a future in the UFC based on what he had seen on the show prior to this episode. Leave your thoughts in the comments section for bragging rights after the show airs next week.

As for me, I have to vote that Jesse Taylor is the culprit responsible and that he will see his future in the UFC go by the wayside. We have all seen how ‘JT Money’ comes out when Jesse consumes a few beverages and the video editing on Jesse has showed him to be somewhat of an unintelligent individual all year. It only seems fitting that had he been set up to win the show during the finale that they may have chosen not to air some of the clips they have to this point. However, had they known that at the end he would be kicked out of the UFC by Dana White they may have decided to air some other footage of Jesse acting childish.

Let the speculation continue when it comes to the UFC. Who will be right and who will be wrong? As always, only time will tell.

Looks like also Zuffa is looking to sell at leastpart of the company, and one of the buyers, none other than Vincent Kennedy MacMahon, Chairman of WWE. With his pull and connection in NYC this seems no coincidence. Further rumours point to Fox buying the UFC.

WWE had a press conference scheduled for today at 12pm at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York, which I believe is where the rumor that Vince was going to buy into the UFC started. When Dana White was on CNBC this past Tuesday he said that the UFC was not being sold and that it was not going public either. We all know that Dana would not want to let the information slip early but for now we must assume that these were simply rumors. Should be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday.

I think it would be awesome if Vince bought into UFC, only for the selfish reason of wanting to hear Good Ole’ JR call a match and refer to each fighter as “a hoss”. He could also use my second favorite expression which is “he’s getting beat like a government mule!”. classic.

JR calling a match would be priceless. I hadn’t even considered that possibility, no matter how far-fetched. Team him up with Joe Rogan and they could make anything worth $50 to watch. So guys, who’s getting kicked out of the finale next Wednesday?

“Oliver Copp reported that Dana White denied to him and other reporters in London that the big surprise was going to be regulation in New York. He was openly talking about New York regulation to people. He also told Kevin Iole and Neil Davidson how it was something he has to tell his employees first, and obviously running MSG wouldn’t fit into that category.” (courtesy: fightlinker.com)

Yet another theory debunked by Mr. White. This announcement, unless Dana is flat-out lying, may very well come out of left field. Maybe it’s time to quit speculating, yours truly included, and simply count the number of sleeps until Dana lets the cat out of the bag.

I would have to agree that it would be JT money who gets kicked off. The only other option is the CB who is so cocky and thinks that he’s in the UFC regardless (which he probably is) gets out of hand and does something stupid but i definitely think that it’s Jesse who’s out. I would be SHOCKED if it was Amir. He just seems very tame and down to earth, at least compared to the other two.

I CAN’T WAIT TILL WEDNESDAY. i’m happy it will be an exciting episode as i kind of found this season a little dull. :(

      Mike what’s up man,

I am going out on a huge limb and saying Amir is the one getting the boot from the UFC and the Finale. My reasoning being, Amir will defeat CB in an all out war by decision. This monumental upset will then transform Amir from his usual laid back self into a character that more closely resembles JT Money’s perverse alter-ego “Coco.”

Wow, is it just me or does it sound like we’re gossiping about our favorite soap opera here?

Anyways, Amir parties it up after the win and loses his mind, kicking out numerous limousine windows in the process. To me, that would justify “the biggest shock” component within the TUF hype machine. I mean, can you seriously picture Amir doing this? Hell no! The upset will be crazy and then the aftermath, truly shocking. That’s my call. Hope I’m right.
