Multiple Media Outlets are reporting that starting Middle Linebacker, Ryan Fowler is under investigation for allegedly violating the NFL Steriods policy. His name was evidently submitted to the FBI by convicted Steriods dealer, David Jacobs who committed suicide last week. In a statement made by his lawyer it was stated that he would fight any suspension as he has not failed any drug test during his NFL career. More on this story will be sure to develop.
The Titans have reached agreement with the St Louis Rams for a series of combined practices leading up to their preseason game on August 9th at LP Field. The teams will practice together at the Titans training facility, Baptist Sports Park on August 6th and 7th. The practices will be open to the public.
Eugene Amano, a five year veteran out of SE Missouri State, appears to be the front runner to replace departed free agent Jacob Bell at the Left Guard position. The 6-3, 310 pound Amano is a very versatile lineman and has seen action at center and guard for the Titans.
Jake Scott, a free agent signee from the Colts, takes over the Right Guard position from the recently retired Benji Olson. The line remains deep in depth and Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger is confident that the line will play a large part in the success of the Titan offense this year as they are very physical and have good size and depth.
Heimerdinger has also been impressed with second year Wide Receiver Paul Williams out of Fresno State. Williams did not see any action last year as he could not break into the line up. Williams came back to camp this year humbled and working hard and has made great strides as he sees this could be his last opportunity to remain in the NFL. The Titans have a large pool of Wide Receivers to choose from this year so expect some veteran receivers to be cut before all is said and done.
Random Music City Madness
Yesterday concluded the CMA Fan Fest here in Nashville which is the weeklong Country Music Festival that includes many concerts in both small and large scale and events throughout the week. I had the opportunity to go to Saturday nights concert at LP Field and had floor seating. I had never been on the field itself at LP and standing on the 50 yard line and looking around at the immense stadium filled with people gave me an appreciation of what the athletes experience. I can only imagine the pressure they feel when all 70,000 eyes are on them.
