A little surprised but hey he can go out a winner now!

this decision took a little too long to come, but its probably the right call for him. No way he can duplicate last season. HOF? I think so….

Imagine the guy who appears regularly on The Best Damn Sports Show Period giving this news exclusively to Fox Sports.
Still though I agree surprising, but good to see him go out on top.

I’m surprised too. He can still contribute even if he’s lost a step, I thought Strahan would stick around for one more year to milk the endorsements and to take a shot at another title (aka pulling an Elway). With the way the won the last one, it would be hard to top however.
Strahan gets to be a champion for life and Tiki gets to be a bad broadcaster, funny the difference a year makes!

Well said!

Well said Mark.
I agree he could still play without a doubt, but I guess after contemplating retirement last year, coming back to a dream season. It’s best to leave on top, as I don’t see the Giants repeating this year.

big difference with Elway. Elways was on a team that he know could likely win again the following season and he did just that.
Strahan could not have a better ending to his career than this. The Giants likely won’t win their division let alone make it to the Superbowl again.
I have no doubt in my mind this guy belongs in the HOF

True Sandy, but did anyone in the world think the Giants would make the playoffs this year, let alone win the superbowl? After Tiki left this team looked dead.

I am not suprised at all by this. I think that the only reason that he came back last year was because he wanted one more chance to win it all. He did that, and now its time to go.
Great career, great player, and great way to end it!

I agree Joseph which makes it even more likely they wouldnt win again. They got very very lucky once so to expect them to be back to back champs is just silly. Winning back to back superbowls is tough for very very good teams let alone miracle clubs. I wouldnt be a touch suprised to see the Giants miss the playoffs next year
