Mini-camp practices are mandatory and second-round draft pick TE Fred Davis slept in and missed it on May 4th. Today he officially apologized to his new team. Sleeping in is one thing. Missing it completely is another. Sleeping in, missing it completely because this rookie requested his own hotel room is another! Who is this guy?
“I’m used to my own room, so I got my own room at the team hotel,” Davis said. “I just didn’t explain that to [team officials].”
They are due back for practice on June 2nd. Let’s see if they’ll let him have his own room again.

The Redskins have one of the most talented TEs with Chris Cooley already so this guy should have slept on the field the night before practice. I guess that’s one of the hardest things that rookies have to go through is realizing they’re not the hot shots they were in college. Anyone with respect for the game would have backups upon backups of alarms.
