Searching for Bobby Engram

to get out of Seattle you take the...

Ruined what was going to be a positive mini-camp post

I have and will remain to be critical of players that in contract, ask for more money based on a previous years production or some kind of raise by association because another player gets this or that…

If you get hurt are we as the team going to get the money back? what if it was a one year thing and your production drops? what then? your going to cut us a cheque right?.

Bobby Remember when we brought you in from the Chi and you couldn’t catch a cold, or what about in 2006 when

“he caught just 24 passes and was unable to play in nine games in 2006 because of a debilitating thyroid condition. His $1.4 million salary for that season was honored and he was re-signed.”

We stood by you but now?

Yes, you had a career year, were really effective in our pass first offense; Mostly in zone coverages or from the slot. Dude your 35, we brought in 3 new running backs, a new fullback, a new offensive run first strategy and you want a new deal? Our passing attempts are going way down.

Haunting

as part of my draft recap I posted that:

“The real failure to me was at the reciever position in the 2nd round when the Hawks picked there was huge depth at the WR and at tight end.”

I just felt the loss of Dj Hackett combined with the age of Bobby that a WR here would have been the right move especially with all the big name recievers left on the board but no…

Now were left with 35 yr old Bobby “Bobble Head” Engram (ego reference) left holding us ransom, slipping coach a note, completely ridiculous.

The latest rumours are that the Hawks are NOT going to renogotiate with Engram again dude your 35, can you sit out the season and even get a camp invite next year? umm nope, then ok play for your salary or we will deal to you away like D-Jax to which ever team’s QB’s photo shows up next on drunk athlete, you got a shovel right Bobby?

You dig it!

      Nice piece!

I agree with you. I can’t stand it when players expect their contracts to be re-negotiated. Be a man, live up to your deal, and play ball. If you don’t want to be tied down to a long term deal, then don’t sign one. Very similar to the Ocho Cinco situation, just not on as grand a scale. Because of this, Seattle is in a unique position to lay a framework for dealing with this kind of behavior, without losing a top tier player.

I hope they stick to their guns.

I agree with you guys on this one! Similar to the CJ issue in Cincy. Nice piece Tim! He is 35 and knows he wont cash in ever again so that is probably another reason why he is pissing and moaning. Let him sit!!!!!!

It just doesn’t seem that he has any leverage here, yes he had a great year but he’s too old to really consider sitting…
