Well I do hope you are correct. It would be nice to have a team in Canada but Buffalo is a terrific place to go watch a football game. I have done it many times and have to say that the fans from that area are nothing short of world class. They treat you great no matter where you are from or who you are cheering for.

Sandy,

Optimistically, the $250 per seat (which I have yet to confirm) you reference is the sole purpose of playing a game each year there. The revenue generated from that single game, will be enough to make the franchise viable enough to keep the team in Buffalo for the time being. Beyond that, certainly there is a serious concern that the team may leave.

As for those who question this move by implying that it is a test run to perhaps move the team permanently to Canada, I disagree. I am 100% sold on the notion that if Buffalo leaves, they are going to LA, not Toronto. Moreover, going back to your question, I believe that if the Bills moved across the border, they would lose a large portion of their fan base, as Buffalo would not support the Bills as wildly as they do with the team residing in Orchard Park.

If I were a betting man, I would wager that the city, and the big names involved with Buffalo football will step up, and do what is necessary to keep the team. Again, there are huge economic ramifications if they move. This is certainly not to say that I lack concern on this matter, because the proposition of them leaving scares me to death, but optimistically, I see them getting the job done to keep the team where it belongs.

Bills are as good as gone I think. Did you hear the prices they plan to charge in Toronto for these games? 250 dollars for an average seat per game. Buffalo won't be able to match those numbers.

My question is will Bills fans support this team if they move to Toronto??

It's hard to say. I would love to think "no". Realistically however, I would say there is a chance they could be gone. That said, Jim Kelly has publicly stated that he is working on finding a group to keep the team in Buffalo. Similar to the Sabres a few years ago, I think some big names could step up to save them.

Whether people want to believe it or not, losing that team would be the final nail in the coffin for Western New York. The Bills and Sabres are everything to the area, and losing them would be devastating economically, and emotionally.
