Well I wasn’t perfect on last weeks blog but the Dallas Cowboys did beat the Washington Redskins 28-23 in Irving, Texas (just in case you were wondering, the Cowboys play their home games in Irving which is just outside of the actual city of Dallas). You ask who showed up for the Cowboys? Well, Terrell Owens did, 8 receptions, 173 yards, 4 touchdowns. I call that showing up, I call that taking control of a ballgame. T.O could do no wrong. Owens and Dallas quarterback Tony Romo accounted for all 28 Cowboy points. I guess to be politically correct I should throw in kicker Nick Folks who got an extra four points (PATS).
This puts the Cowboys at 9-1 and enroute to what we hope is at least a playoff berth, let alone first place in the NFC East. I rarely show any Dallas ego in order to stay on the good side of any winning streaks and not jinx the boys. Any Dallas fan has to be weary of the two game lead the Cowboys have on the 7-3 New York Giants who play the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
So now we enter week 12. Dallas plays the 2-8 New York Jets in Irving. The Jets come off a big win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who would of thought.
The Cowboys have never had a 10-1 start in their franchise history and certainly I am not one to jinx the Cowboys, but lets be sure the Cowboys do not look ahead to next weeks tilt against the Green Bay Packers and forget about the Jets. The Jets did show they can play with the big boys with their recent win over the Steelers.
Dallas who always play during the American Thanksgiving against the Lions, are all time 25-14 on Thanksgiving Day . This year the NFL has thrown in the Indianapolis Colts against some high school team we will call the Atlanta Falcons. For those that care I was in Atlanta this past weekend and saw that exact high school Falcon team lose 31-7 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Look for the Cowboys tight end Jason Witten to have a strong game up the middle and get back to the all-star form he started the season with. The Cowboys will maintain another strong running game and ofcourse there is always Owens who in case no one saw, even played defence on Sunday and knocked down a Redskin Hail Mary. Way to go TO.
Dallas wins says this blogger…happy Thanksgiving everyone.
