NFC East Re-cap Week 3 with a look ahead to Week 4

NFC EAST
Re-Cap week-3

I have to start my week-3 re-cap with, how about them Cowboys?  A great start to the season with 3-0 record for the first time since 1999.  Tony Romo is making the Cowboys as legit a contender since the Emmit Smith, Troy Aikman days and everyone is taking notice again.  Beating a Bears team 34-10 makes people listen and take notice.  TE Jason Witten has Jay Novacek written all over him and RB Marion Barber III is bringing back a legit running game to Dallas.  If the Cowboys stay healthy, all I can say is look out.

Not sure what to say about those Eagle uniforms but if it brings out a win, than keep wearing them.  Maybe Brian Westbrook should not practise every week as he had a great day with the Eagle A-team showing up as the Eagles beat up on the Detroit Lions.  Westbrook did leave in the 3rd quarter but says he wants to play this week.  Kevin Curtis became Donovan McNabb’s best friend in hauling in 221 tards receiving and 3 TD’s.

The interdivision match-up of the N.Y. Giants and Washington Redskins had the Giants showing some poise in a comeback victory by defeatting the Redskins for the Giants first victory of the season.  Plexico Burress had another great day as the Burress and Manning show hopefully starts to produce more consistently week in and out.  Newly acquired Giant RB Reuben Droughns stats were 3 carries, 3 yards and 2 TD’s.  The Redskins are maturing with Jason Campbell at the helm and Antwaan Randle El, Clinton Portis and even Mike Sellers 6′3″, 245lbs makes third downs much more attainable, much like Mike Alstott during his glory years in Tampa Bay.

St. Louis (0-3) goes into Dallas (3-0) and I see no reason why Monday this will not say St. Louis (0-4) and Dallas (4-0).  RB Steven Jackson for St. Louis will not play.  The Cowboys will look to pad up their league best 116 points in what should be a practise session for the Cowboys.

The Sunday late game has a interdivision match-up with the Eagles heading to the Meadowlands to play the Giants.  I keep asking myself which team will show up and I don’t have an answer.  This game has either excitement or head to bed early written all over it.  I would like to lean towards the excitement phrase.  Both teams are 1-2 and the playoffs will be hard to reach for the losing team making this a key game for both squads.  Eagle running back Westbrook will be a game time decision and Manning and Buress will certainly test the Eagle secondary in what should make this contest quite interesting.

The Redskins have a bye this week which might give them some extra time to see what jersey they will wear in week-5, all I can say is yikes…
